Transitional Housing Program
"The House of Hope" (2 seperate homes) Most of the women who live in the transitional housing complex have never been taught the basic skills required to live independently. When mothers do not have the skills to live independently successfully, barriers to parenting also exist.
Teaching mothers the elements of social, cognitive, language, physical, and cultural pathways is a critical challenge. This program provides intensive case management services to assist women to develop the skills needed to live independently.
Permanent Housing Program (the only one in the country that we know of)
“The Village Place” is an apartment building where single women and women with children can reside in this program for as long as they desire until they are ready to find permanent housing of their own.
Lack of adequate safe housing affects 50-90% of Breaking Free’s clients. Helping exploited women locate safe housing presents a formidable challenge.
